Most programs on this BBS are "zipped". This saves a tremendous amount of disk space and also saves you a lot of time in downloading them since these programs are reduced in size by as much as 75%. Most MS-DOS programs consist of many files each of which is necessary for the program to function. It would be extremely inconvenient to have to download each file seperately so the program is "zipped" into one file that is considerably smaller than the original program.
